Civilization III: Play the World contains new multiplayer and single player features, pitting you against the best Civilization players from all corners of the earth via the Internet.

Yes, Civilization III: Play the World ships with an improved version of the editor that will allow you to greatly customize your Civ experience in ways never seen before in any other Civilization game. The improved editor not only allows you to alter game elements such as advances, civilizations, units and wonders (to name a few), but also includes a robust map editor.
A very large number of additional scenarios, maps, and art modifications will be available with Civilization III: Play the World. These range from completely new rules sets, new game maps, and even Watercolor terrain sets!
